The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially known as the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship for sponsorship purposes, marks the 8th edition of this biennial football tournament. Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), CHAN exclusively features national teams composed of players active in their respective domestic leagues.
This edition, scheduled from 1 to 28 February 2025, is historic as it will be the first to be co-hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Host Selection
The decision to award hosting rights to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda was made on 17 December 2023, marking it as a dress rehearsal for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will also be hosted by these three nations.

The tournament will utilize five stadiums across the three host countries:

Qualification
The qualification process, announced at CAF headquarters in Cairo on 9 September 2024, ran from 25 October to 29 December 2024.
While Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia earned automatic qualification, Libya later withdrew due to scheduling conflicts.
