In the recently released examination results circular by the Law Development Centre (LDC), it has been revealed that out of the 2,087 students who enrolled for the advocate Bar Course for the academic year 2022/2023, only 701 successfully passed.
The breakdown indicates that 894 students will need to sit supplementary exams, while 492 students completely failed the course. The pass rate of 701 students represents 34% of the total enrolled, with 398 passing at the Kampala campus, 224 at Mbarara Campus, and 79 at the Lira Campus.
Interestingly, the Mbarara Campus achieved the highest pass rate percentage at 36%, with 286 students needing to take supplementary exams and 120 students failing the course. Meanwhile, at the Kampala campus, 488 students are set for supplementary exams, and 305 students did not pass. At the Lira campus, 120 students will sit supplementary exams, and 67 students failed.
The circular explains the process for students with supplementary exams, indicating that those sitting for category B and C subjects will have their results processed in time for graduation with their peers of the academic year 2022/23. Students with supplementary exams in category A subjects will sit exams with students of the academic year 2023/24.
Individual detailed results for students will be accessible on their portals on Wednesday, and graduation ceremonies will be held at respective campuses in Mbarara on April 12, Kampala on April 19, and Lira on April 26, 2024.
