I&M Bank Uganda Transitions to Exclusive Use of Mastercards, Phases Out Orient Bank-branded Visa Debit Cards

Date:

I&M Bank Uganda has announced the phasing out of the old Orient Bank-branded Visa debit cards, emphasizing its commitment to becoming Uganda’s leading financial partner for growth. Customers are urged to upgrade to the new I&M Bank Mastercards, as the bank’s new system will no longer support the old Visa debit cards.

The transition to the new Mastercards has been ongoing, and customers have been encouraged to complete the re-carding process by February 1, 2024. The CEO of I&M Bank, Robin Bairstow, expressed the bank’s dedication to providing the best and most convenient banking services, highlighting the benefits of the new Mastercards, including seamless payment solutions.

Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank, noted the positive response from customers and invited those who have not yet upgraded to visit any of the bank’s branches for a quick replacement process. The old cards will cease to be functional after February 1, 2024.

Customers can activate the new I&M Bank Mastercards using various methods, including the USSD service (*200#), the I&M Bank mobile banking application (Fastpay), and ATMs. The cards offer features such as facilitating daily expenditures locally and overseas, access to cash from ATMs, complimentary travel insurance for the Schengen visa, and various discounts on air tickets and hotels worldwide.

Local benefits include offers and discounts at Serena Group of Hotels and Golf Resort Spa, city properties, and luxury lodges, as well as exclusive deals with partners like Jumia Prime and UNICAF for eligible candidates. The bank expressed gratitude to customers for their patience during the transition period.
