Alice Alaso As Party Candidate For Serere County By-Election – ANT informs

The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has officially announced Alice Alaso as the party flag bearer for the forthcoming Serere county member of parliament seat which fell vacant in December 2022, following the death of MP, Patrick Okabe who died in a motor accident alongside his wife, Christine Okabe on December 19, 2022.

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) iron lady who had served in the eighth, ninth and tenth parliaments as the Woman MP for Serere District is now set to battle for the seat with Okabe’s son Martin Onguruco (Independent), Emmanuel Omoding (Independent) and NRM’s Phillip Oucor.

Alaso was unveiled on Wednesday in the presence of the party president, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu and other party officials.

According to Electoral Commission, candidates vying for the vacant seat will be nominated between February 9 and February 10, 2023 and campaigns will commence from February 13 until February 21.

Polling day and tallying of results are slated for February 23, 2023.
