dfcu Bank Boosts Conbert Primary School with Educational Support

Date:

dfcu Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to community development by donating scholastic materials, hygiene supplies, and digital skills training to pupils of Conbert Modern Primary School in Abayita Ababiri along Entebbe Road.

The outreach, spearheaded by the Bank’s Internal Audit Domain in partnership with the Abayita Ababiri Branch, focused on a school that has been a loyal customer of the institution. During the visit, bank representatives engaged Primary 7 candidates with career guidance sessions and provided mathematical sets to aid their final exam preparation. Teachers received subject guides for Primary 5 to 7, covering key learning areas.

To address hygiene and waste management, dfcu Bank supplied classroom and outdoor dustbins, along with sanitary pads for female pupils. Bank staff also showcased the use of digital platforms such as the USSD code *240# and Mobi Loan services, highlighting their role in school fee collection and payroll management.

Grace Buwooza, Chief Internal Auditor at dfcu Bank, said the initiative reflects the bank’s vision for sustainable change: “Our CSR approach is not about one-off donations; it is about creating lasting impact. By investing in education, hygiene, and digital skills, we are helping shape the next generation while strengthening the bonds we have with our customers and communities.”

This initiative forms part of the bank’s “60 Acts of Kindness” campaign celebrating 60 years of service. Over the years, dfcu has extended similar support to entrepreneurs, women-led businesses, and infrastructure projects in education and health across Uganda.

Through these actions, dfcu Bank continues to position itself as a responsible corporate partner driving positive change in communities while enhancing educational opportunities for Uganda’s youth.
