Hannah Karema Triumphs with Miss World Africa BWAP Honor

Date:

Uganda is basking in the glory of a significant triumph in the international beauty pageant arena. Hannah Karema, the current Miss Uganda, has clinched the esteemed Miss World Africa Beauty with a Purpose (BWAP) accolade at the 2024 Miss World event in Mumbai, India.

Although Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic captured the overall Miss World title, Karema’s stellar performance earned her a spot among the top two African contestants and the top eight worldwide.

Karema distinguished herself with a blend of radiant beauty and profound intellect. Her engaging narrative and the meaningful impact of her BWAP initiative won over both the judges and the audience, culminating in her acquisition of the Miss World Africa BWAP crown.

Upon her return to Kampala, Karema, who also represents StarTimes as a brand ambassador, conducted a press briefing at the company’s headquarters. There, she recounted her challenging yet rewarding journey at the competition in India, serving as an inspiration for aspiring beauty queens.

This milestone signifies a pivotal moment for both Miss Uganda and StarTimes. Energized by this season’s success, they are preparing for the launch of “Journey to the Crown” Season 2 in April 2024.

StarTimes celebrates the partnership and lauds Miss Uganda for Karema’s extraordinary achievement. Bruce Augus, the CEO of StarTimes, affirmed, “This victory reinforces our dedication to nurturing and highlighting local talent.”

Kenneth Kazooba, Vice President of StarTimes, shared in the jubilation: “Witnessing the fruits of our efforts in restoring the Miss Uganda title to its esteemed status brings us great delight. This victory is a testament to the Ugandan people’s support, viewership, and votes for our Miss Uganda.”

The forthcoming Miss Uganda 2024 pageant promises to captivate audiences, with live broadcasts on StarTimes’ Makula KiKa and Makula Kazzanyo Ku’ Kazzanyo channels, available through both the decoder and the StarTimes ON mobile application. Makula KiKa delivers an eclectic array of entertainment, while Makula Kazzanyo Ku’ Kazzanyo offers continuous Luganda series, an exclusive feature of StarTimes.
