Rajiv Ruparelia’s Widow Naiya Pays Heartfelt Tribute at Cremation

Date:

“Rajiv Was My First Love,” Says Naiya Ruparelia at Cremation Ceremony

Kampala, Uganda – May 7, 2025 — Naiya Ruparelia, the grieving wife of Ugandan tycoon Rajiv Ruparelia, delivered an emotional tribute during his cremation at Lugogo, following his tragic death in a car accident on Saturday.

Supported by family as she fought back tears, Naiya remembered Rajiv not only as a successful businessman and philanthropist but also as a loving husband and devoted father.

“Rajiv was my first real love. We had a bond that was complex, deep, and always real,” she said. “He was magnetic—someone who could light up a room.”

Reflecting on their daughter, Inara, Naiya added,

“To many, he was a hero, a brother, a friend, but to his daughter, he was her dad—and that made him extraordinary. I will make sure she carries his light forward.”

Rajiv, the only son of businessman Sudhir Ruparelia, is remembered fondly by friends, family, and business associates alike for his charm, vision, and humanitarian heart.
