He explains that several people who acquire letters of administration thing they own the estates and end up depriving orphans and relatives of the deceased from utilising the property, which results in serious disputes.
Kabuye says it is high time that the Chief Justice, Bart Katureebe issues a practice directive to judicial officers to reduce on the time limit within, which the letters of administration remains valid to help local authorities defuse the mushrooming wrangles resulting from the deceased’s property.
He reveals that his office is overwhelmed by land disputes, adding that the weaker parties in such wrangles are often afraid of returning to court and resort to violence.

He disclosed this during the commissioning for the construction of a new justice one-stop center for Sembabule chief magisterial area.
In his response, the Chief Justice, Bart Katureebe asked judicial officers issuing powers of administration to closely follow up on executors’ actions and ensure that they clearly follow available provisions in the law such that they do not overstep their mandate.
According to Katureeba, some administrators are taking advantage of the ignorance of other beneficiaries to abuse their rights.
