Today, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ms Janet Kataha Museveni, will announce the results of the 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations at State House, Nakasero. The results will affect 349, 459 students who sat for the exams last year.
The Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) confirmed the date of the announcement yesterday through their official X account, which was previously on Twitter. They also revealed that they had briefed the Minister about the results beforehand.
Uneb stated that the 2023 UCE candidates were the final group of students who took the exams under the old curriculum. They added that they would disclose the plans to ensure a smooth shift from the old to the new curriculum during the announcement.
The 2023 UCE exams had 349, 459 registered candidates, a slight decrease from 364, 467 in 2022. Out of these, 184,064 were female and 180,357 were male. The exams were conducted in 3,861 centres across the country.
This is the second batch of exams that Uneb has released this year, following the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) that came out earlier.
