“Ugandan Speaker of Parliament Under Investigation: Secret Service and CIA Probe Offshore Businesses”

Date:

Anita Among, the Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, is reportedly under investigation by the secret service and CIA for her offshore businesses. She has been accused of being a prominent figure in promoting homophobia in Uganda. Despite having her A1/A2 Visa revoked, the United States is considering using the Magnitsky treaty to seize some of her businesses, which are believed to be worth over $2 million. It is rumored that Among may have assets in the US, managed by her relatives, who are also living there.

The Biden administration is actively searching for these assets and intends to sanction them, following the precedent set by the West in dealing with Russian oligarchs during the Ukrainian invasion. Among is said to be experiencing immense fear and pressure after being informed that she may be investigated for her involvement in human rights abuses and violence against Ugandan opposition supporters. Kakwenza Rukirabashaija, who is currently in exile in Germany, has accused Among of being one of the high-ranking government officials responsible for sanctioning the abduction of dissenting Ugandans.
