VP Ssekandi consoles Gen Saleh on the loss of his wife

Date:

The Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi yesterday visited Gen Salim Saleh at his home in Entebbe to commiserate with him following the death of his wife Harriet Aber.

Aber, who was a prominent investor in Northern Uganda was recently found dead at her home in Gulu.

Details of the cause of her death remain scanty.

Last year, she appeared before Justice Catherine Bamugemereire’s land probe and defended herself from allegations that she had grabbed land from the locals for her farming projects.

Ssekandi said the late Aber was not only a mother but a chief mobiliser for the NRM and an agent of peace and prosperity in Northern Uganda.

The VP said wives of freedom fighters go through immense trials in their lives given uncertainties and anxiety that their husbands go through.

He hailed Gen. Saleh for loving his wife and expressed optimism that the eleven years she shared with her will remain pivotal in in their lives.

Saleh described his late wife as developmental who always gave counsel to him which impacted on him while undertaking his national obligations.
