Kabale Mourns the Passing of Land Board Secretary

Date:

Kabale District is mourning the loss of Edmund Tumushabe Musekura, the Secretary of the District Land Board, who passed away at Mulago Hospital following a prolonged battle with cancer.

Known for his humility, transparency, and dedication to public service, Tumushabe’s death has drawn heartfelt tributes from political leaders and community members alike.

Dr. Nicholas Thedeus Kamara, Member of Parliament for Kabale Municipality and Tumushabe’s former schoolmate, described him as a disciplined student and avid volleyball player during their time at Kigezi College Butobere and Namilyango College. Kamara also remembered him as a humble and principled friend.

Eliab Naturinda Mporera, a political hopeful for Ndorwa West, hailed Tumushabe as a loyal friend who deeply loved Kigezi and his family. He praised Tumushabe’s crucial role in facilitating the issuance of land titles across Kabale District to minimize land disputes.

Mporera also highlighted the late official’s efforts to uphold the legacy of his father, the late Canon Musekura, a devout church supporter and former Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) chairman.

Nelson Nshangabasheija, the Kabale District LCV Chairperson, commended Tumushabe for his unwavering commitment to civil service. He acknowledged the lasting void his passing will leave in the district’s administrative leadership.

In addition to serving on the Land Board, Tumushabe previously held the role of secretary for the Kabale District Contracts Committee. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday at his ancestral home in Kibuga Sub County, Kabale District.

Tumushabe’s dedication to community development and public integrity leaves a lasting mark on Kabale. May his soul rest in eternal peace.https://x.com/KabaleDistrict/status/1914756326531477638
