Hamz Stadium Earns Praise from CAF Inspectors Ahead of CHAN & AFCON 2027

Date:

The impressive Hamz Stadium, constructed by tycoon Hamis Kiggundu, has left a profound impact on CAF inspectors as they prepare for the CHAN and AFCON 2027 tournaments.

Following previous inspections in July 2023 and February 2024, the stadium garnered praise from the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports during her visit in February 2024.

Meeting rigorous standards for hosting top-tier football events, the stadium underwent meticulous scrutiny by CAF inspectors who assessed various aspects including the quality of the playing surface, modern floodlights, dressing rooms, spectator seating, media facilities, and amenities such as television sets and refreshments.

The inspection also covered perimeter areas, parking facilities, washrooms, restaurants, outlets, and access roads. Ham’s meticulous construction ensured efficient water flow during rainy periods, earning commendation from the inspectors.

With the inspection concluded, Uganda eagerly anticipates co-hosting CHAN and AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni scheduled to commission the stadium soon.
