ROKO Construction Ltd was awarded the prestigious title of Contractor of the Year at the Uganda National Association of Builders, Suppliers, and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) Awards 2025. The award, presented on December 12, 2025, was part of the annual Uganda Construction Excellence Awards (UCEA), held at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

Recognizing Excellence in Uganda’s Construction Industry

The UNABSEC Construction Awards celebrate companies and individuals who demonstrate outstanding performance in the construction industry. ROKO Construction’s award acknowledges its excellence in innovation, professionalism, leadership, and sustainable construction practices. These efforts are in line with the company’s commitment to enhancing Uganda’s infrastructure development.

ROKO’s Continued Commitment to Quality and Innovation

Mark Koehler, Chairman and Managing Director of ROKO Construction, shared that the award is a testament to the company’s long-standing focus on delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across Uganda. Koehler emphasized that quality and professionalism have always been at the core of ROKO’s operations, underpinned by careful planning, continuous improvement, and adherence to international standards.

“We place great emphasis on careful planning, monitoring, analysis, and continuous improvement,” Koehler stated. He also added that ROKO aims to undertake larger, more complex infrastructure projects in the near future, continuing to meet the needs of its clients and contributing to Uganda’s development.

Significant Infrastructure Projects Delivered by ROKO

In 2025, ROKO Construction handed over several major national projects, including the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (UHTTI) in Jinja and the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development headquarters. Other key infrastructure projects, such as work on Parliament and the National Planning Authority (Planning House), are also progressing well.

The company’s ability to consistently deliver large-scale projects has cemented its position as a leading player in Uganda’s construction sector.
